Neighbour dogs’ incredible friendship captured in heartwarming video

Maltese Charly and Pug Peggy are so inseparable that their owners arrange playdates between the pair almost every day

A pair of dogs who live next door to each other have become inseparable, with their adorable bond documented in a series of heart-melting TikTok videos.

Maltese Charly has regular playdates with her neighbour, a pug called Peggy, after the pair became “instant best friends” the very first time they met, according to Charly’s owner Kaylee.

Now Charly eagerly awaits the arrival of her new friend each day, as the cute clips show. Charly is always on the lookout for Peggy, and is ecstatic when the pug comes around to visit.

“Charly is always waiting and watching Peggy’s house to see when she comes out,” Kaylee, from Midwestern US, says.

“If we even mention Peggy’s name, Charly gets so excited and runs over to the back fence to see if Peggy is there.”

The pair’s owners try to arrange playdates for the pups as often as possible – and when they get together, Charly and Peggy spend all day playing games.

“They love to chase each other and take turns being the chaser and runner,” Kaylee says. One clip also shows Charly adorably sharing her favourite toys for Peggy to play with.

The videos were posted on TikTok by @charlythemaltese13 , where thousands of followers await each instalment of the pair’s adventures.

“What a beautiful friendship, it melts my heart,” one person commented on a clip of the pups playing together.

“They always make me smile,” another said.

Charly and Peggy aren’t the only pair that have been melting hearts with their friendship lately, but some dogs have a more unusual choice of best friend – like springer spaniel Marley .

Six-month-old Marley became firm friends with his owner’s cat Horner, and the pair love to sneak off for a cuddle and snooze together in the afternoon.

The bond between the two surprised even their owner, and the unlikely duo even love playing together and sharing food when they’re not snuggled up for a nap.
